Couldn’t get my mind off of strawberries after posting my scrumptious Vegan Cinnamon Bun on my facebook page, so here’s more ideas for strawberries! Fondue & Chocolate Dipped! And if you can’t find any fresh strawberries this time of year, I’m sure bananas, peaches, apples or other sweet fruits would taste equally delectable!
Vegan Chocolate Strawberry Fondue:
1/4 cup vegan margarine
8 ounces vegan chocolate chips or vegan dark chocolate (Trader Joe’s chocolate chips are vegan!)
2 tbsp flour
1/2 cup agave or corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tbsp almond milk
Melt the vegan margarine, vegan chocolate and almond milk together in a saucepan (or double boiler) over very low heat.
Once melted, remove from heat, add the rest of the ingredients, mix well and transfer to fondue pot to keep warm.
Serve with fresh strawberries!
Vegan Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
6 ounces of chocolate chips or vegan chocolate, broken into pieces
1 pound of fresh ripe strawberries
Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
Melt the vegan chocolate in a small pot, stirring frequently to ensure the chocolate doesn’t burn. When chocolate is smooth and creamy, reduce the heat to very low.
Dip each strawberry 1/2 to 3/4 way into the chocolate and place on wax-lined baking sheet.
Allow to cool before serving.
