BREAKING: Lead Researcher on “Meat is Healthy” Study Has Ties to Meat Industry [ by Jackie Day ]

Is anyone surprised? After being vegan for 32+ years, and following food policy and politics for decades, I’m not surprised. One. Bit.

The lead researcher for the new study that tried to quash decades of evidence that meat wasn’t healthy was just found to have ties to McDonald’s and Cargil, one of the largest processors of meat in Northern America.

Lead researcher, Bradley C. Johnston, stated he had NO conflicts of interest with his study, but according to the New York Times, he recently worked on a similar study paid for by a trade group that was “largely supported by agribusiness, food and pharmaceutical companies.”  The trade group was founded by a top Coca-Cola executive and it has been trying to undermine public health recommendations for decades.

As I always say, if something doesn’t make sense, follow the money trail.  You’ll find the answers there.

Skip the meat. Eat plants.
