Because beef? Well, it’s not for dinner.
At least not according to the masses who shop at Trader Joe’s. When asked to select their very favorite “meat,” Trader Joe’s customers selected TJ’s Soy Chorizo as their favorite!
Not only is it yummy, it has no cholesterol and 60% less fat than non-vegan chorizo.
Yep, that’s right. Despite a super wide selection of dead animal chunks – both frozen, and freshly killed – most customers picked a tasty, cruelty-free 100% plant-based meat option.
Even this year’s runner up favorite “meat” is vegan: Trader Joe’s tasty vegan “Meatless Meatballs.”
I talk about both of these scrumptious items in my new book, The Vegan Way, because they’re fantastic for those transitioning to a vegan lifestyle. You can easily crumble the soy chorizo into tofu scrambler if you want a nice kick, or toss it into a pan of country-style potatoes for a little extra zip.
Vegan meatballs? Just add em’ to your favorite pasta sauce! I even served them up as hors d’oeuvres once – with a little dipping sauce, too – so good!
The options are endless!
Seriously, Trader Joe’s sure makes it easy to be vegan.
Need more ideas? Here’s a list of vegan options at Trader Joe’s. And if you ask nice enough, they’ll even print up a copy for you at the store!
