Thanks to Popular Demand, McDonald’s Launches a Vegan Burger in the USA!

After a successful run of the McVegan Burger in Finland and Sweden, McDonald’s has launched a vegan burger in the United States! Even if you’re not a fan of McDonald’s, you’ve gotta admit: it’s a step in the right direction, and the animals are darn tootin’ happy about that!

The McVegan Burger in Europe is made with a soy patty with an eggless “McFeast Sauce.”  The new vegan burger that just made its debut in Chicago is the “McAllo Tikki” burger; a favorite in India for many years!

The McAllo Tikki is a toasted bun with a veggie patty made from potatoes, peas and seasoning reminiscent of samosas.  It’s topped with fresh red onions and tomato slices.  Just sub out the eggless mayo for ketchup and you’ll be all set!

“Customers have expressed interest in items from McDonald’s restaurants located in India, and we’re excited to offer them the opportunity”

~ McDonald’s Owner and Operator Nick Karavites

Lucky Chicago! It’s also home to Upton’s Naturals, maker of scrumptious seitan and jackfruit meals. And of course, the infamous, Chicago Diner, where you can score everything from vegan “Country Fried Steak” to vegan “Thai Chili Wings.”

So if you live in the windy city, you’re in luck!
