Ag-Gag Law Overturned

The 2012 law that banned undercover video recordings inside agricultural production facilities in Iowa has been struck down! People can now document the horrors that take place inside of factory farms and puppy mills.

California’s Foie Gras Ban Stands; U.S. Supreme Court Refuses to Hear Challenge

The U.S. Supreme Court announced it will not hear a challenge to California’s 2004 ban on the production and sale of foie gras.  After years of legal battles, the 2017 rule upholding the ban, which originally passed in 2004, will stand. This is great news for ducks and geese.

“Foie Gras” means “fatty liver” in french – and it’s produced by jamming tubes down birds’ necks and force feeding them until their livers expand many times larger than they should be; a horrifically cruel process.  Thank you for letting the California law stand, United States Supreme Court!

So, chin up, vegan-buttercup.  There’s a lot of work still left to do, but there are many victories to be grateful for, too.
